Upcoming Briefing: Rights of Nature

This week the Women’s Congress for Future Generations launched a new Declaration Briefing Series. Thursday’s briefing, held nearly one year after the convening of the first Women’s Congress, focused on an Introduction to the Declaration and the Precautionary Principle, with Carolyn Raffensperger.

Join us for our next call, *October 10th, 2013 at noon Central Time for a briefing on the Rights of Nature, presented by Robin Milam, Administrative Director of the Global Alliance for the Rights of Nature.

*Beginning in October, we will convene these discussions every second Thursday of the month, at noon Central Time (10am PT; 11am MT; 1pm ET).

It has been one year since the first convening of the Women’s Congress for Future Generations in Moab, Utah. To celebrate, the Women’s Congress is excited to announce the launch of a new monthly call series on key concepts and frameworks that guide this work, with the goal of translating these working ideas into concrete action!

An Introduction to the Declaration and the Precautionary Principle

Affiliated Rights, Responsibilities, Principles from the Declaration include:  
Right of Future Generations to whole, biologically diverse, unpolluted ecosystems; Responsibility to prevent harm; Responsibility to head early warnings; Using the Precautionary Principle to fulfill other responsibilities.

The calls will be one hour.
